The Beauty and the Abyss English
“The Beauty and the Abyss” arises from a reflection on the fragile yet powerful tension between wonder and unease, light and darkness, poetry and the crisis of our time. In this project, beauty is not understood as simple decorative harmony, but as a resistant force: something that continues to emerge even within disorder, loneliness, vulnerability and the contradictions of the human condition.
The abyss, instead, becomes the symbolic place where fear, disorientation, inner conflict and transformation gather. The works seek to open a question within the viewer: can beauty survive within an unstable, fragmented world, often crossed by social, spiritual and existential tensions?
The faces, expressions, and gestures of the characters, the skyscrapers, and that bit of greenery,
I have connected them in a vortex with a central figure: a muse. I painted seven large-format oil and acrylic canvases. Great people have achieved great tangible
goals, despite unfavorable conditions and numerous failures accumulated along their journey.
Some are expelled from schools and academies
(Albert Einstein and many others).
La Bellezza e l’Abisso Italiano
“La bellezza e l’abisso” nasce da una riflessione sulla tensione fragile e potente tra meraviglia e inquietudine, luce e oscurità, poesia e crisi del nostro tempo. In questo progetto, la bellezza non viene intesa come semplice armonia decorativa, ma come una forza resistente: qualcosa che continua a emergere anche dentro il disordine, la solitudine, la vulnerabilità e le contraddizioni della condizione umana.
L’abisso rappresenta invece il luogo simbolico in cui si concentrano paura, smarrimento, conflitto interiore e trasformazione. Le opere cercano di aprire una domanda nello spettatore: può la bellezza sopravvivere dentro un mondo instabile, frammentato e spesso attraversato da tensioni sociali, spirituali ed esistenziali?
I volti, le mimiche e i gesti dei personaggi, i grattacieli e quel po’ di verde li ho connessi in un vortice con una figura centrale: una musa ispiratrice. Ho dipinto sette quadri a olio e acrilico su tela in formato grande. Grandissime persone hanno raggiunto grandissimi obbiettivi tangibili, nonostante le condizioni sfavorevoli e i moltissimi fallimenti collezionati sul loro cammino. Alcuni vengono espulsi dalle scuole e dalle accademie
(Albert Einstein e molti altri).

Sometimes I have my doubts as well. But I clearly decided dark colours in the back, that represents the harsh reality.
I haven’t decided the title of this painting yet. Above still the modern harsh urban life, below bright exotic colours.
At some point, my hands moves themselves.
And here the final painting…
my studio gives me tranquility, away from the harsh events of our present time.

In alto la vita frenetica urbana, sotto colori saturi esotici.
Ad un certo punto le mie mani si muovono da sole.
Ecco il dipinto finale…
il mio studio mi dà tranquillità,
via dai rumori e dagli eventi odierni.

Perché molti artisti mollano?
Quando il mercato li ignora,
purtroppo spesso si ritirano
dalla scena, anche i più noti,
i più popolari.
Quando ci viene inculcato che l’arte
sia solo dover vendere, avere molta
visibilità e fama. Quando si spopola sui
social, nelle gallerie d’arte, alle fiere,
quando devi sempre rincorrere il denaro.
Quindi inizi a credere di essere solo
la tua carriera, di dover fare numero.
Ma spesso la realtà è molto diversa.
A volte dimentichiamo che sei un artista
anche quando nessuno ti guarda.
Il tuo valore sta anche nello studio,
nel fallire, nel processo, nel conoscere,
nell’esplorare, nel viaggiare, nel creare,
in parole semplici: Nel creare valore.
Poco importa se lo condividi oggi
o domani e se lo apprezzano in pochi.
Forse quei pochi sono le persone giuste.
